Backstage with the crew of Five Finger Death Punch

I received a call from my friend, Bruce. Bruce is the FOH mixer for Five Finger Death Punch and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He offered to get me backstage at the 5FDP show with Shinedown and Sixx AM at the Peoria Civic Center. How could I say no?

Before soundcheck.

I met Chet Haun. Chet is the amazing guitar tech for 5FDP. And, I'm not just saying that because he thought the Swaim guitar I built was awesome...

The highlight was catching up with Bruce, and reminiscing about all the jamming and guitar repair we used to do.

Just two guitar-playing kids from a small town in Illinois.

As a fan, it's easy to take a show like that for granted, but the crew puts in a staggering amount of work. Utmost respect, guys!

Every person I met, from artists to crew, treated me like family, and I can't thank them enough. It was just what I needed.

Now, on to finishing the new StrikeForce novel, The Lotus Blossom!

Nearing the end of the new StrikeForce novel

The new StrikeForce novel, The Lotus Blossom, is nearing the end. In writing terms, that means the work is just beginning. Rewrites, edits, more rewrites, more edits, etc... Please grant me the coffee I need to complete this project!

I've already started taking notes for the next Sam Harlan novel. It will be set in Chicago, and Henry Hastings will be a big player as Sam finally meets one of the Ancients.

I'm also working on a dozen different shorts. One is a Sam Harlan based short as told by Jack Harlan, circa 1951. Another is a StrikeForce novel set in the 1920's and features Montgomery Barth, the President's man.

52K into the new StrikeForce novel

The new StrikeForce, tentatively titled The Lotus Blossom, is at 52k. I'm hoping I'll have it finished by the end of September.

Come What May has a new review at FangFreakingTastic. You can read it here: https://fangfreakintasticreviews.com

I'm currently watching a TV show called Powers, from the PlayStation network. Sharlto Copely is amazing!

I'm eagerly awaiting the start of the new season of Longmire on Netflix. Plus, Luke Cage is going to drop at the end of the month! How cool is that?
